One Thing – Week 2

Last week, I decided to blog once a week on Sundays.

Yay, I made it to the second week.

So this week my new one thing is tracking the iron in my diet.

Did you know that women up to the age of 50 need 18mg a day? To put this in perspective 3 oz of red meat is only 3.5 mg. Are you getting enough iron?

Also, did you know that iron adsorption is enhanced with Vitamin C. Spinach contains iron and vitamin C, so you can see Popeye was on to something. “I’m strong to the finish ‘cause I eat me spinach…”

As usual here are some extra things.

  1. My favourite book to share this week is Story Sparkers: A Creativity Guide for Children’s Writers. Of all the writing books I own, this one is the most practical and takes your through the entire writing process with a book published by the authors – Frankenstein Doesn’t Plant Petunias.
  2. This week I learned that the actor who played the fiancé Rudy in 16 Candles is the same actor who played the custodian in Breakfast Club. This tidbit came from the book – John Hughes: A Life in Films.
  3. Hubby suggested a sandwich pickle in a hot dog. And you know what? It’s great! I “relish” the flavour combination.

What’s your one thing?

On to your success this week!

One Thing…

My one thing this week, is to start posting on Sundays.

Why?

Consistency.

I used to be so much better at posting.

What got in the way?

Me.

I was searching my week for post worthy things.

And?

And, I was being to judgy about what could make the cut.

So I have decided to add one new thing each week.

But, I will share other things that I think might interest you.

  1. Writing Excuses – a podcast that is so delicious. I am really late to the party, yes, but it is so good and now I have so many episodes left to enjoy. Also, they are only 15 minutes long.
  2. Real Friends – Best Friends – Forever Friends – a graphic novel trilogy written by Shannon Hale. These books are an informative representation of a child (the author) growing up with the challenges of OCD.
  3. Pineapple on Chili – Hubby suggested this one tonight and you know what, it’s not pine-full it’s actually really good. 🙂

Well, on to your success this week – What is your one thing?
